Your child’s first year of primary school is a time of new challenges, experiences and environments. At Seeds of Knowledge, we want to eliminate the guesswork surrounding school readiness and give our emerging learners the best start.

Our Prep4Prep School Readiness Program is an award-winning program designed to give our youngest learners the best start at school. At the 2023 What’sOn4Kids Awards, parents voted it the state’s best preschooler activity! Parents and children alike benefit from learning the skills and tactics to confidently embrace the Prep year.

At Seeds of Knowledge, our philosophy is to empower children at the earliest age to love learning. We teach them to see the power of learning, and guide them to a successful start on their academic journey. We strive to help your child become confident and ready for the challenges of their first year of formal schooling, allowing them to transition seamlessly into primary education.

The kindergarten years (ages 3-5) are vital for providing a solid foundation for future learning. We must also recognise that not all children develop in the same way or at the same time. Each child is unique, and deserves a program that recognises their individual strengths and weaknesses, and strives to give them the tools they need to shine.

Our Prep4Prep program is designed and delivered by fully qualified educators who understand the demands of early childhood education.

The program will help your child:

• Be confident and comfortable with school structure and routine
• Be socially and emotionally prepared for the challenges of school, including working and playing in groups
• Equip them with foundation skills to have the very best start
• Have proficient fine motor skills, literacy and numeracy, phonemic knowledge of letter and sound recognition
• Develop deeper focus and concentration needed for learning, and follow instructions in formal environments
• Look forward to school and learning!

Our play-based program bridges the gap between the kindergarten and Australian Prep curricula. These vitally important skills will help to transition your child into the foundational years of their education.

From Our Founder

As a teacher with over 15 years of experience and a mother of two boys, I have seen firsthand preppies turn up to their first day of school in shock and awe at the new experience that awaits them. Some kids can take days or weeks to understand and settle into the school environment’s routine.

These challenges can cause unintended stress and even academic delays that may be hard to address for some children.

Seeing this in my role as a teacher, I was determined to help children avoid as much of this stress and uncertainty as possible. That’s how Seeds of Knowledge Prep4Prep came about – a program that helps concerned and caring parents prepare their kids for that all-important first day of school and beyond. It continues to give kids the support and foundations to start school with confidence and success.

We guide children to develop vital skills that will help them throughout their academic journey, including their social and emotional skills, physical skills, communication skills and cognitive skills.

Program Details

Class Sizes

Our class sizes are capped at 8 students. They are designed for maximum educational benefit and individualised focused attention.

Class Duration and Structure

We understand the needs and learning abilities of children in this age group, so the sessions have been purposefully designed within a one-hour timeslot for maximum engagement and learning.

Our structure consists of:

• Settling routines and activities
• Curriculum-focused learning lessons
• Fine motor activities
• Movement activities
• Hands-on learning experiences
• Transition to home routine

When enrolling children into the Prep4Prep program, they should complete a minimum of a full term aligned with Education Queensland School Terms to gain any benefit. Enrolment in the complete four term package delivers the most enduring results.

What’s Included

A fully comprehensive parent and child experience that includes:

• Informative and educational weekly emails outlining the essentials of prep readiness
• Certificate on completion to each student
• Educational resources during sessions for maximum engagement and learning
• Prep readiness bag containing, drink bottle, yearly planner and prep readiness guide

Fees

Our Prep4Prep fee is $53 per student, per session.
